Unable to connect Tata Photon+ HUAWEI Mobile Broadband EC1261 on Fedora 14 x86 64-bit

Hello Friends,

I am using Fedora 14 x86 64-bit OS and for internet connection I use Tata Photon+. It is from HUAWEI Mobile Broadband, Model: HUAWEI EC1261.

When I try to connect it through internet, it does'nt even detect itself as USB Device and due to that it is not able to connect to internet. I configured it properly through Network Connections --> Mobile Broadband --> Add..... and then configuring according to my region but unable to connect to internet.

Earlier I used Fedora 14 32-bit and in that it was working fine without any problem but I want to use it in Fedora 14 x86 64-bit.

So, if anyone have any solution to fix this problem so please help me and I will be very thankful to you guys, I am waiting for your replies.......

Hello friend,

Try to visit http://www.sakis3g.org and download Sakis3G. I used it to detect my HUAWEI mobile broadband E153 usb modem which was not automatically detected on my ubuntu 10.04 machine. It works perfectly and hope it works on your machine too. I have now changed to fedora 84_64 but the usb modem is detected right away, no need for extra software.
