Unhappy How to Install flash-plugin in F15_X64?

I had to reinstall Fedora 15_x64.

I am unable to install flash-plugin (Adobe Flash Player version 10.3.183.10) for 64 bit Linux. I have downloaded "YUM for Linux" from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer and tried to install adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm with Software Install. I then used 'yum install flash-plugin', It installed but there is no flash-player in browser and I could not play Youtube.

I Googled for a solution but it did not help. I request the forum to help me. I am relatively new to linux and fedora so I would appreciate if the solution is offered in a step-by-step manner.

Thanks.

search this forum.. there are PLENTY of solutions.

Besides, there's a nice yellow link on top of the page, there are many usefull programs.
You could try my scripts as well, as long you're not afraid of the terminal.

Re: How to Install flash-plugin in F15_X64?

Download from Adobe the rc version of flash -> link <- unzip it and move the file to
Code:
/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins
make a link to
/home/~user/mozilla/plugins

Open firefox and in the address bar type:
Code:
about:plugins
Check if flash is OK

Re: How to Install flash-plugin in F15_X64?

Thank you Mitsakos your link helped. I have a working FLASH-PLUGIN.

I did this:

Code:
$ su cd /tmp
# wget http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l..._090611.tar.gz
# tar -xzvf flashplayer11_rc1_install_lin_64_090611.tar.gz
# mv /tmp/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/
And it worked beautifully.

Question: what is wrong with the "Yum for Linux" which is available from the link I mentioned above? Why did the .noarch.rpm package did not help?
Thanks...

Re: How to Install flash-plugin in F15_X64?

To be honest I never tried to install it with yum.
Probably cause of the architecture.

Anyway, it is good to hear that you're Ok.

Enjoy!
