how am I supposed to boot into rescue mode? I boot my fedora 15 installation cd & i have 5 option:
Boot (Basic Video)
Verify and Boot
Boot from local drive
In aguide on this forum, i have read to get into rescue mode by "addin linux rescue to boot details". Is it the solution?
Boot after pressing tab shows "vmlinuz0 initrd= [....] rd.dm=0"
Am I supposed to write "rescue"to the end? It doesnt work
So doesn't work "vmlinuz0 rescue" or simple "linux rescue"
My problem is follows: I'm using win XP, then i've installed fedora 15. That's compromised NTLDR files (ie. not possible to boot XP). I used procedure for rescue of NTLDR files, which compromised GRUB.
Now i need to reinstall GRUB without cracking NTLDR files.
/dev/sda1 NTFS D: data
/dev/sda2 NTFS C: system (win xp)
/dev/sda3 etc. Fedora
i have installed grub into /dev/sda and it destroyed NTLDR files. Any ideas? Well first, i need to get grub running and then i will try to play with configuration of grub.
