Problem with gnome-shell extension alternative status menu

F16 x86_64 on Thinkpad T420s. I have installed several gnome-shell extensions and switch on the alternative status menu. There is 'power off' below 'log out'. But I cannot log in the gnome next time. What's the problem?

Thank you very much. Setting a user image does work as a workaround, as mentioned in the bug report.
