Hi
I''m getting the the sorry there is a problem, logout message after logging into gnome.
I guessed it was a problem with the user config, so I created a user "test"
but when logging in with either user I get the same message
I was trying to get samba running before this happened , niether smbd or nmbd would start.
I migrated that machine over from Debian as the next version drops many packages which use
QT3.
I can access with ssh from the laptop and login CLI
I've tried to reinstall gdm3 ,but no effect
ideas ??

A bit more
yum is non functional .it just hangs from thr CLI, so I cant add another DM like XFCE.
Also IFCONFIG shows the ethernet as P10P1 and not eth0
Is that a changed I've missed, I cant check on the laptop as its wireless linked.
Is there an image anywhere of the current state of FC16 with updates, I can down load.
It maybe quicker to reload the system.
TIA
Richard

I see this has been posted a while ago, but nothing useful from the thread, as it seemed to be getting flamed for asking
