Exclamation Fedora 17 DVD x86_64 Machine Check Error - Unable to Install

Hi, I would like to ask, anyone has an idea what's wrong with my situation here?

When I tried to install Fedora 17 DVD x86_64, it always says Machine Check Error and then system reset (automaticly rebooted)

My system are:
  • Intel Core i7 2600k
  • MSI Z68MA-ED55 Motherboard
  • G.SKILL Perfect Storm: F3-16000CL8D-4GBPS (2Gx2)
  • Corsair SSD
I didn't overclock my system, all running it's default.

I tried to dd the Fedora 17 DVD x86_64 .ISO to a Flashdisk, but still getting the same issue.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Have you been able to verify the the DVD?
Can you boot it in a different machine if you have access to one?

the .ISO is verified, the burned DVD is verified, even I tried to 'dd' .ISO to a Flashdisk and verify it, but all got the same issue.

different machine not yet tried, this is the only PC I got, the others are Apple Macintosh.

Re: Fedora 17 DVD x86_64 Machine Check Error - Unable to Install

I think the problem is my motherboard is UEFI-based. How to fix this issue?

Re: Fedora 17 DVD x86_64 Machine Check Error - Unable to Install

Are you trying to boot from an usb 3.0 port?

Please check your memory with Memtest86+, because the 2600k only supports 1333 MHz ;-)

Try to boot in non-UEFI mode. The board should have a boot menu by pressing F11 or something like that.

Re: Fedora 17 DVD x86_64 Machine Check Error - Unable to Install

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue.

1. I installed the fedora, all the packeages are loaded. Installing the packages took around 20-30 minutes.

2. After that the it prompted me to restart.

3. I clicked on restart and then the system got restarted, when it was about to open the
fedora firstboot screen, I got an error.

Error:- Disk check error

The system restarts and again the same "Disk check error".

Is this problem bec' the installation didnot happen correctly or any specific reason???

During the installation I clicked on "Shrink existing space". Now I opened the system using another windows OS. There shrinked and allocated space is not visible.

Please, provide me a solution for this. I got really troubled with this and there is no where providing me the exact solution.
