F16 boot Failed to Start LSB - 3.3 kernel upgrade?

Recently my 64-bit fedora crashed and then I needed to restart. When I restarted, I wasn't able to reboot. There were 3 kernel options in grub, the first one is 3.3, and the next 2 are 3.2, but I wasn't able to choose any of them with arrow keys. However, ctrl-alt-delete does respond.

Then the first failures I see are these:
Started LSB: Mount and unmount network filesystems [OK]
Failed to start LSB: Starts and stops login iSCSI daemon. [Failed]
See 'systemctl status iscsid.service' for details.
Failed to start LSB: Builds and install new kmods from akmod packages [Failed]
See 'systemctl status akmods.service' for details.
... [OK]
... [OK]
Started NFS file locking service.
Failed to start LSB: Starts and stops login and scan... iSCSI devices. [Failed]
See 'systemctl status iscsi.service' for details.
...
Started Display Manager [OK]
Starting Sendmail Mail Transport Client...
Starting Sendmail Mail Transport Agent...

*Hangs here*

I saw some of these threads, but I have no working terminal to follow these fixes. I also cannot use ctrl-alt F1-F7. Each echos ^@ to the screen.

Any help is appreciated, as I cannot use my computer.

*Edit*
I also saw this thread, but it doesn't help as I cannot do Ctrl-Alt F2

Re: F16 boot Failed to Start LSB - 3.3 kernel upgrade?

I'm guessing the problem is with the 3.3 kernel. Here is a workaround, but I'm not sure if the kernel will automatically upgrade again. Hopefully the problem is fixed by then.

I grabbed my old F15 liveCD and used that to get to a terminal, then found my old boot drive to be somewhere in /media. May need to use the file explorer (Nautilus?) to click on some drives at the top left.

Copied my old files matching *3.2.10-3* to whatever grub is pointing to, *3.3.0-4*. Reboot.

uname -r now still says 3.2.10-3, so I suspect I will need to redo this at some point if the kernel autoupdates.

Re: F16 boot Failed to Start LSB - 3.3 kernel upgrade?

I have the same issue stopping after:
Code:
Starting Sendmail Mail Transport Client...
Starting Sendmail Mail Transport Agent..
I logged using rescue mode and check the logs, I found on /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Code:

[ 23.944] (II) LoadModule: "dri2"
[ 23.945] (II) Loading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri2.so

[ 23.945] (**) Load address of symbol "VBOXVIDEO" is 0x7f51c5dc2660
[ 23.945] (II) VBoxVideo: guest driver for VirtualBox: vbox
[ 23.945] (--) using VT number 2

[ 23.948] (EE) No devices detected.
[ 23.948]
Fatal server error:
[ 23.948] no screens found
[ 23.948]
Please consult the Fedora Project support
         at http://wiki.x.org
 for help.
[ 23.948] Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.1.log" for additional information.
[ 23.948]
then i remove the VirtualBox-guest and reboot:
# yum remove VirtualBox-guest.x86_64
# reboot

works perfectly after it
