audio/video files could not be opened in FC#

I've just installed Fedora core 3. I've a DVD ROM and Benq cd writer in my system.
But could not be able to watch movies....or hear songs.....
Do i have to install any software for doing so? I alreday have Totem movie player.....what do i have to do?
