no tap0 device found

Hello everyone,

I already post almost the same thread but nobody gave me any clues

I have Fedora Core 2
and I just bought a connection with AOL and they gave me this modem (BT Voyager 105),
which doesn't have any drivers.
I found something that looks like drivers but i don't think they realy are.

eciadsl-usermode-0.10-nortek-alpha.tar.bz2

I don't even know if i downloaded the right one.

Anyway after the configuration that it has, ( after './compile' ,'make', 'make install', 'make cfg')
i run a 'eciadsl-start' and i get an error after the connection with the isp is done saying

Waiting for tap0... ..........
no tap0 device found

What is this tap0 device ?
Did i do anything wrong, did i try a wrong approach to this matter?

I would appreciate any suggestions

Thanks
