[ Core 4 ] Newbie Question: VGA mode not supported

Hello,

I've recently installed Fedora Core 4, because I want te learn to understand how this OS works. Now I wantend to higher the resolution but now mijn screen says "VGA mode not supported" and I can''t do nothing more. Now I've read some around and I should get into a text mode, but everyone says something else how to get there and what to change. So, if possible (please) can someone say, in short, what I've to do to get into text mode, starting from GRUB (which keys i've to press??) and what file I've to edit. Can someone explain me quickly How To edit the file and how to change?? Or has linux a save mode like windows????

Thnk you very very much,
nh
