i assume your using gtkpod. if so close gtkpod, detach the ipod from the computer, and then as root:
delete all /media/ipod folders
edit /etc/fstab and remove all referencing ipod mount entries
re-attach the ipod. it should automatically recreate /media/ipod.
open gtkpod and it should remount it.
if it doesnt make sure that gtkpod is configured to use /media/gtlkpod as its mountpoint and then close gtkpod. then as root type mount /dev/sd?2 /media/ipod (?=whatever usb device it is... sda2... sdb2...etc) then reopen gtkpod. it will probably say it can't find the database, just hit read and it should all come back.
