Administer Windows servers via FC# Linux
Can anyone tell me if there is a command in Linux to allow you to connect to a windows machine (2000, XP, 2000 server, 2003 server) with an admin login, and perform admin functions like start and stop windows services. Simular to the sc.exe function on win XP.

So you want a GUI login, correct? I'm not sure about a naitive-windows solution, but VNC is great! If you install the free VNC server off the VNC site (I can't recall it at the moment - google "VNC", I'm sure it'll come up #1) you can use "vncviewer <windows ip>:0" on Linux and get Window's GUI.

No, he specifically is looking for command line tools.
If he doesn't want to use TSClient, it's doubtful that he wants to use VNC either.

No, I do not want a GUI. I want to use command line. Currently on another windows machine I can type the command sc <server> [command] [service name]. I want to find a command that I can run from linux via the command line. NO EVIL GUI.

I hear ya. You can always tell the guys who need to script out routines because we thrive on the command line. Unfortunately, for my minimal mgt of Windows boxes from a Linux box I just use TSClient myself.

Maybe I am approaching this wrong. Maybe I need to send a batch file and then have it run automatically, without user intervention, as long as I have admin rights.
