I've got a PC with a Linksys WMP11 with the older Prism2.5 chip. This computer previously had Slackware 10 on it and the card worked great. I decided to throw FC5 on, and I cannot get the card to work. All of the help I've seen for this chipset regarding FC5 is for the newer chipsets and not for my older one. The hardware tab says that the "Intersil Corporation Prism" card's status is OK and when I do an iwconfig, it correctly shows all the parameters of the wireless network as I gave in the Network Configuration panel. Its when I try to activate the card i get
Code:
"Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06):
SET failded on device wifi0; Operation not supported.
Determining IP information for wifi0... failed.
Maybe I'm overlooking something simple, but I can't believe that a card that was easily set up in Slackware would be this difficult to get running in a more userfriendly distro. It is the only network interface in the pc, so I can't get any updates or anything until I get it working properly. Any suggestions?
Thanks
