Missing icons, post-install

Hey, I'm really new to Linux, so be gentle with the jargon

I installed Fedora 6 today on a powerbook and noticed that my battery icon in the bar at the top is missing. There's also icons missing on my applications, places and system menus. I've just done an update with 369 items, so ideally, I'd prefer not to have to reinstall.

does anyone have any ideas what might have gone wrong and how to fix it?
