Beryl +nvidia +FC7

I am trying to get Beryl running under KDE and FC7. I have xGL installed and appears working correctly with the latest nvidia drivers....

glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation

yet - when I try to start beryl - it appears to crash and revert back to the default window manager.

where can I look for information on my system to diagnose the problem? There are no messages on /var/log/messages or /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

When I try to start beryl - it spins for several minutes moving windows then reverts back to the default configured Window Manager.

any suggestions would be appreciated

thanks
