Autostart of gdeskcal on desktop

Manually, from Application-->gDeskcal I can have the calendar on the desktop. I like this particular calendar because it blends in well with the default Fc7 desktop as the calendar display is semi-transparent.

Where do I have to add /usr/bin/gdeskcal &
so that

a) It starts when I log using the gui

b) It does not start when I log using the text mode (ctl-alt-f1) for example.

Currently I have put the line as an entry into .bash_profile. But then gdeskcal starts with every user logon. When it is the text logon, I want to skip the execution. Is there a variable that I can test to identify the gui interface so as to control the when the auto-start of this fine program can take place?

System-->Preference-->Personal-->Sessions, and select the Startup Program tab, add a new entry for gdeskcal.

I don't think gdeskcal supports text mode, does it make any sense to use gdeskcal in the text mode?
PS: Mod, Admin: Please move this thread to Software section please!

Thank you. I removed the line from the Bash_profile and used the above settings. Peace and harmony at home/mylogon.
