Angry FC2 - Wacom Graphire 2 problems

Has anyone been able to get their USB wacom Graphire 2 tablet fully working with fedora core 2?

I am having severe problems with mine.

I have compiled the linuxwacom0.6.3 driver, I have set up xorg.conf for the tablet.

I can move the X cursor using the stylus or mouse, but i get no output from xinput test stylus - this means that Gimp can't recieve pressure data from the stylus.

I've also tried with the stock fedora core 2 kernel wacom driver, still no results.

Here is the relevant section from my Xorg.conf

# XFree86 4 configuration created by pyxf86config

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default Layout"

# RgbPath is the location of the RGB database. Note, this is the name of the
# file minus the extension (like ".txt" or ".db"). There is normally
# no need to change the default.
# Multiple FontPath entries are allowed (they are concatenated together)
# By default, Red Hat 6.0 and later now use a font server independent of
# the X server to render fonts.
RgbPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb"
FontPath "unix/:7100"

############

No errors in /var/log/Xorg.0.log

xxd /dev/input/event2 streams data when I move the stylus.

Can someone please help as I am losing sleep over this!!!

I'm running fedora core 2 with the stock kernel 2.6.5-1.358

thanks in advance
