Error "Unable to retrieve software information" in Fedora core 5 plz suggest any solu

iam using fedora 5 in this os the add/remove software option doesnot working when i try the error is displayed
"Unable to retrieve software information" i have searched in google lot of dicussions nothing usefull please any body sujjest a good solution

I've seen a similar problem, but, strangely, it seemed to resolve itself! Possibly - though this is a guess - it may not be launching completely, next time it occurs try closing it and opening something else, then close that and try opening 'Add/Remove software' again. Sorry I can't be more help.

Try this this may help to know about your installed s/w:

#yum list installed

or

#rpm -qa

Hasn't FC5 reached EOL yet?
