Wireless to wired connection

I'm running Fedora Core 7 and I'm wondering how I can get my fedora pc to give internet to my windows desktop. I know you can do this in windows, but the computer I'm trying this on doesn't have a wireless adapter. I need for my fedora laptop to get internet access via wireless and send it to my ethernet port so that it shares it with my other computer. Thanks for any help

Firestarter can enable this for you. It has a way to set up internet connection sharing just like on windows.

I just installed it, and now when ever I run it it says I must have root privileges, even though I am logged in as root through the terminal. I also chose keep authorization as root, and it still isn't working.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got the firestarter to work. However now I just get an error message when trying to start the firewall that my ethernet port is not ready. Ugh.

How did you become root in the terminal? Remember using "su" is not the same as "su -". The difference is that "su -" gives you root's environment as well as root privileges. "su" only gives you root privileges, but not root's environment.

All I did was type in su login and cd to the directory of firestarter /etc/firestarter

And then the window popped up and I ran the firewall configuration. Do you know how I fix my other problem though? On my windows pc I set it up as a computer on a network, so it's fine. It's just my linux computer that's doing this. I thought it might be because it wasn't activated in network config, but I can't even activate it in there. Instead I get this:

Determining IP information for eth0...Internal network device eth0 is not ready. Aborting..
failed.

I have no idea what to do, please help this is urgent.

I get this message in firestarter and the NetworkConfiguration utility.

I want my computer to get internet access from my wireless card (eth1) and share it with my windows xp computer (eth0)

My ethernet port is connected from my computer to the windows computer.

Since it is a wireless card, you may need a driver that has not yet been made for Linux. The easiest way around this is to use ndiswrapper which will let you use your XP driver in Linux. There has been a lot of discussion on the board lately about ndiswrapper. If you do a search, I am sure you will find the information that you need to get your system up and running.
