Installing Pidgin Plugin Pack

Hi all,

I downloaded the Pidgin PluginPack. When I try to configure it I get the following error:

checking for PURPLE... configure: error: Package requirements (purple) were not met:

No package 'purple' found

What is the meaning of that?

Something similar happens when I tried to install the Guifications.

I am running Fedora 7 and Pidgin 2.2.0

Regards,

Hatuey

Pidgin requires libpurple. You'll need to install that.

pidgin-guifications.i386 0:2.14-2.fc7 from the Fedora 7 repos installs fine via yum. As for the other, you may need the purple development packages.

I have installed libpurple! So, why the configure script did not find it?

As I said, it might be looking for the libpurple-dev package. Install that and try again.

ok, I try to instal libpurple-dev with yum and it said "nothing to do

Also, I do a search for "purple" in my system and found some references in /usr/lib and /usr/lib/purple-2

I put both int the path (one at a time), unsuccesfully.

Hatuey

Whoops, it's libpurple-devel and if you're using pidgin 2.2.0 the version in the Fedora repos won't match. You'll have to use Google for an RPM.

Thanks Wayne. I downloaded the packages using Yum.

I compiled the plugin pack, but some plugin did not compile, given a message like "Nothing to do for 'all'.

Hatuey
