f8_x64 codecs: compatibility with mandriva fluendo pack?

Hi all,

i have just installed f8_x64 and must say it is very impressive, better then mandriva 2008 so far. I was wondering however if it would be possible to install the fluendo codec pack that is on my mandrive 2008 powerpack dvd within fedora? It is also a rpm, both for gnome and both x64 and i understood that third party rpms are often rather distro independent.

It would be a shame if i had to buy those again or use livna codec when i have this fluendo pack lying around.

thanks,
stefan.

It installs ok but I haven't checked to see if it is functional

Hi,

thanks for the reply. If you could see if it is functional that would be great. Maybe play some restricted stuff or see what codecbuddy makes of it. I would like to keep my f8 as clean as possible and if it turns out is might not be working then maybe i need to go the livna way, but in f6 livna gave me so much dependency hell.

thanks again,
stefan.
