Port MSVC project source to F7

I'm trying to figure out how to compile a C++ MS VStudio project on Fedora 7 - LiquidPCB . I've done a pretty good amount of coding in MSVC++, but this is my first go at it in Linux. Any pointers on how to start?

I belive a few IDEs have converters but I don't know which ones or how good they are. Personally, I'd try compiling each source file and slowly creating a new Makefile from the ground up.

Code::blocks has a converter, but I don't know what pre-processor and compiler arguments should be, e.g. directory set-up, what to put in instead of WIN32, etc. I'd like to learn scons or make so that the build can be performed on other machines, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to begin.
