Need help with VMware troubleshoot

I am trying to install FC2 on VMware 6 and I am having the following Problem:

(I know FC2 is an older version but hey, it came with my textbook and I'll download a newer version if it helps but I want to try this first since it's what I got right now)

Everything seems to install just fine but then when I boot it kicks out a message at the fsck checkpoint saying it exited out with "signal 4", then offers the root login for troubleshooting, otherwise it exits and tries to reboot with the same result.

I'm wondering if it's just something with VMware that maybe a newer version of FC will fix?

Again the only reason I'm using this version is because I have the physical discs and it would be easier than having to download or torrent the newer version.
