Need help configuring wacom tablet

I have relatively new install of FC5 on my computer and a wacom graphire 4 tablet. It recognizes the pen only when it is pressed down and it only goes around the top-right quarter of the screen.
Thank you in advance.

Can't really help you, but my wacom tablet (don't remember the name, it is the cheapest a6 tablet they sell) is auto recognized by fc4 and fc5. Regularly the pen can't touch an important part of the screen left or under or wherever, but I can correct that by moving the pen to the opposite part of the screen. The right-click button on the pen isn't recognized as well (have a separate mouse for that). There is a Linux-Wacom project going where you can read detailed instructions on how to recompile your kernel, etc. in order to get these Wacom things working. I am really too lazy for that, so I accept its little shortcomings.

PS. I use a tablet to avoid pain in my arm, which is the result of 17 years mousing. Works very good.

Paul.

I just swapped out my old mouse for a graphire 4 and had the same problem. I fixed it by adding the text mentioned in:
http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/in...howto/inputdev
and
http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/in...owto/srvlayout

I did have to use wacdump to determine what values to use in the Option "Device" lines. I just ran wacdump /dev/input/event0, wacdump /dev/input/event1, etc. until I found my tablet (for me it was /dev/input/event1.)

Then you just have to restart X or reboot.

You can also try to change the input with wacom in /dev/input/wacom.
