Where is udevd started on Fedora 3?

Hi everybody,

my name is Matteo and I'm from Italy.

I'm trying to understand where udevd daemon is started in Fedora 3, but I was not able to find it. Skipping the initrd fs, into rc.sysinit the script /sbin/start_udev is called which in turn seems to invoke only udevstart, not udevd.

I then downloaded udev package from kernel site (not really Fedora 3 version, but the latest available now, say 089, and looked at udevstart source code, but again it doesn't seem to me udevd is started there.

But if I do a 'ps -elf' on my PC, udevd is running...

Can you please help me?

Thanks in advance,

Matteo.
