You must to put the DNS ip in your ppp configuration, ask your ISP

from my point of view follow the following steps.

I Assume that you are using Fedora Core 4.

1) /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver Primary_DNSname
nameserver Secondary_DNSname
Set this things.

2) try /sbin/adsl-connect

If you are not able to do this,
check do you have
1) nscd-2.3.6-3.i386.rpm 2) rp-pppoe-3.5-31.i386.rpm
3) rp-pppoe-3.8.tar.gz

For first two use rpm -q nscd-2.3.6-3.i386.rpm / rp-pppoe-3.5-31.i386.rpm
For 3rd : tar -xzvf rp-pppoe-3.5.tar.gz into /usr/local. And read the README file and follow it.

Once you done this, use

/sbin/adsl-connect

Hope you enjoy with your internet.

cheers
