New FC5 build - php mail not working

Nearlly everything works on my little Lamp server using FC5.
But when I try to use mail from a php script it never gets to the end user.
I get a mail at the terminal telling me that there are issues but I don't understand the message.

" ----- Transcript of session follows -----
<original email address here>... Deferred: Name server: yahoo.com.: host name lookup failure
Warning: message still undelivered after 4 hours
Will keep trying until message is 5 days old"

How do I solve this?
Do I need to switch something on/off?

Mike

I did a phpinfo() and got the following :-

mail.force_extra_parameters -> no values
sendmail_from -> no values
sendmail_path -> /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i (in both columns)
Path to sendmail -> /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i
mail.force_extra_parameters -> no values

I presume that means I'm using sendmail

Ok. Have a look if you can find any sendmail error messages related to these bounced attempts in /var/log/maillog. Also make sure sendmail is running:
Code:
ps -ef |grep sendmail

the error that seems to appear in the log is
"
May 23 13:47:52 localhost sendmail[22806]: k4ICZnVS011957: to=<mike_bike_kite@yahoo.com>, ctladdr=<robinm@localhost.localdomain> (500/500), delay=5+00:12:03, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=esmtp, pri=11024718, relay=yahoo.com., dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Name server: yahoo.com.: host name lookup failure
"

The sendmail appears to be working:-
ps -ef |grep sendmail
root 1787 1 0 May18 ? 00:00:01 sendmail: accepting connections
smmsp 1796 1 0 May18 ? 00:00:00 sendmail: Queue runner@01:00:00 for /var/spool/clientmqueue
robinm 28871 15739 0 16:23 pts/1 00:00:00 grep sendmail

It still isn't sending any mail though!

Mike
