Trouble connecting to wireless networks.

Hello all,
I am trying to connect to my neighbors wireless network. I recently moved into my apartment and my internet won't be on for a week or so. I am using KWiFiManager and it detects the network however it shows it as WEP protected. I know for a fact that it is not WEP protected because i have talked to my neighbor and i can also connect via Windows which shows it as unprotected. Also, when i am running windows i can detect around 6 wireless networks vice only one when running Fedora. I would not think that using Fedora would decrease the range of my wireless, but i'm just a noob. Thanks for any assistance.

Fedora Core 5
Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop
Intel Pro Wireless
