Trouble connecting to wireless networks.

Hello all,
I am having an issue connecting to wireless networks. I can connect just fine when wired in, but no joy when i'm going wireless. I am using a Dell Dimension 9300 with an Intel Pro Wireless 2200 wireless card. I have all the drivers installed courtesy of YUM. I can detect wireless networks however they are showing up as WEP protected. Now this would not sound funny except when i am looking at the same networks under windows they show up as unprotected. I am using KWifiManager to detect the networks. I am also finding only one wireless network from my apartment, but when i boot into windows it detect five or more sometimes. I am not sure if i am failing to issue some kind of command or if there is some other software that i should use. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any other info please let me know.
