Citrix

Hi all.

Finally got my Airport Extreme to work on my iBook G4 with FC5 I really want to switch from Mac OS X to FC5. As it seems one thing is still holding me back though: Citrix. I need to use Citrix for my work and I´ve stumbled upon a few Citrix client but none are for PPC. Who knows what to do?

I goofed around a bit with rdesktop but it doesn work for me. I guess itś my lack of Linux experience but it could also be that we have a rather typical Citrix setup. So who knows if there are clients for FC5 on Mac? Or how to get it to work in any other way? FWIW: On the Mac we are using Citrix ICA client.

Many thanks,

speirs

Citrix is a closed source proprietary product. The only thing you can do is petition the authors to compile it for PPC.

Long live Open Source.

Although I don´t think this will work for me* I get installation errors (Missing Dependency)...

* There are a lot of users using more then one appliccations, I can´t imagine how TightVNC could fit in/replace Citrix ICA client

If Citrix is not available for Linux PPC you have to move on, find another solution.

I'm not sure what Citrix is.... but if you are trying to setup a remote desktop solution VNC works great.
I can TightVNC (stand-alone or through SSH) to my FC5 system with no problems from a Windows or Linux system.

Citrix is an enterprise class server solution for thin client remote desktops. If his workplace has a Citrix infrastructure, he's not going to be able to use VNC or NX or anything else.

This is correct. I really need to get a Citrix client or something that does the same.

Thanks all for all the responses up to this point. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Unfortunately the last mention of it I could find on the Citrix boards was from 2004:

Try posting a new request, you may get lucky and start a revolution. Other than that, you're fuxor3d, don't lose that OS X DVD. :-)

Yes I already found that thread, this sucks...

Back to Mac OS X I guess. This is the only thing holding me back.
