Unhappy Lenovo X60 w/ IPW3945 installation problem

I have a Lenovo X60 running FC5. The X60 has the ipw3945 miniPCI express card in it. I am a newbie and am having a very rough time installing this card.

(1) tried install "yum install ipw3945" --> no matches found
(2) tried manual installation using directions from http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/. I failed at trying to install the ieee80211 subsystem.

Is there an easier way? Anybody have this card working? As much help, detail as possible would be greatly appreciated. As I mentioned, I am a novice.

thanks!

one thing you could try is ndiswrapper. The installation wiki provides really thorough instructions on how to set it up: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...p/Installation . To use that, you would use the windows drivers for your card that you could probably download from the card's site.

Try this and reply with the results
