wine 0.9.15 locks up system

Running an updated Fedora Core 5 on an athlon xp and nforce2 chipset machine. The lock up happens when I try to run an .exe or wine -config. Running wine just says
Quote:
Usage: wine PROGRAM [ARGUMENTS...] Run the specified program
wine --help Display this help and exit
wine --version Output version information and exit
Everything becomes unuseable including the keyboard and mouse, a hard boot is necessary, and the problem is reproducible. I have tried reinstalling and making sure everything is up to date. I've tried searching this forum and bugzilla to see if anyone else has encountered this. As far as I know I'm the only one. I'll try installing wine from source or see if they have any rpms on winehq.com
