Bitstream Vera Sans in Fedora Core 5

Hi all. I have 2 screenshots: 1 (Gentoo Linux), 2 (Fedora Core 5). On these screenshots identical fonts and settings (75 dpi - 10px). Why the font in Fedora Core does not look as in Gentoo?

P.S. Sorry for bad English.

The fonts look the same to me. Fedora does have a different theme, Clearlooks.

Perhaps Gentoo uses the DejaVu flavor of Bitstream Vera fonts.

The DejaVu fonts are proposed for Fedora Core 6. You can try them out with FC5.
