Good Day All . . .
I run a daily backup program that in part saves my personal files. My xscreensaver uses a graphics directory within my personal area. Sometimes the xscreensaver and my backup clash. This results in a total system freeze with hard reboot the only option. Everything is locked up. I believe that it is a problem with file access.
If I disable the xscreensaver I have no problems.
I want to add an xscreensaver stop command to the start of a script and an xsreensaver start command to the end but my attempts are not working.
I can stop the xscreensaver with the command xscreensaver-commnd -exit
but I can in no way bring it back to life. xscreensaver-command -restart
and xscreensaver daemon
generate error messages.
Does anyone have an answer or can anyone suggest a different approach?
