Amarok seek problems

Hi,

I'm using Amarok with realplayer 10 as the engine and I can't seem to seek properly. It takes a good 5 seconds for a seek to finnish (during this time, the song position thumb bounces around and the sound gets wierd). And if I try to do a bunch of short seeks (when searching for a specific part in a song), amarok goes nuts and takes up all of my memory (I think it just launches a ton of threads) and I have to do a hard reboot.

Has anyone else had this? Any idea what's going on?

I have the same problem. I am rather convinced that amarok 1.4 (which is completely new from the last version if I understand what I have been reading) is still rather buggy.

Good idea (not sure if i've tried in the past).
Can you please tell me how? I've yum installed amarok-xine, but I don't know how to configure the paths.

Just add the xine libs and then install amarok-extras-nonfree. You'll then be able to see xine in the "engine" configuration menu.

Sweet. I'd seen that already, but I thought I had to change the paths too (didn't notice the "Helix").

Thanks
