Yes.

The Fedora image at the beginning, the text saying what's going on, etc, is all fine.
It borks at the login screen.

Code:
My commands
cd /etc/
cd /X11/ : No such file or directory.
should be:
Code:
cd /etc
cd X11
without the leading and trailing forward slash.

Or just go there in one command:
Code:
cd /etc/X11

I should have noticed that

Funny your "one command" comment didn't appear in your reply but it did show up in my quote?
Oh there it is now

The magic of "edit", LOL

@DarkDespair: notice all those xorg.conf backups and the copy...it's a good idea to backup any .conf file before getting under the hood

locate xorg |grep conf returns
locate: can not open '/var/lib/mlocate/mlocate.db': No such file or directory

Apparently I can now CD to the directory with a manual mount of the sysimage.

The edit command is not found...tried gedit too. I guess I must be completely clueless as to mistype the cd command syntax.

I would try the Fedora Core IRC channel but it kicks me out for being an 'open proxy'. (I'm running a FTP Server + TOR Server on my Windows machine. Sadly I need it for Ipod support and gaming.)

By the way, thank you all for helping me solve this problem.
