Why works Canon Ixus so slow on Linux ?

Hello,

We use FC6, but our Canon Ixus is so slow in its connection, to view a picture it takes 20sec....BEcause the Konqueror always says "initialising Camera"!

Theres No way to see Previews, because it takes sooooo long... even to copy the Folders from Ixus to Hdd, after every image it says "initialising camera"...

Any way to work around it, and how to view a 300kb Picture faster than in 20seconds ?

I never like the idea of connecting a camera directly to my PC, I always take the memory card out then put it into a card reader, that way I can be sure no unnecessary conversions are made, hence no lost of picture quality.

ebay a 52-in-1 card reader, those i got work straight out of the box in Linux or Windows.

Yes i do that on my Notebook too, but my brother wants the direct cable way...so please help us to speed up this connection
