and you WANTED this? lol, it reminds me of the XP menu. First thing I set in XP is Windows classic menu! Why not just use Gnome if you want your menu stuff all scattered out? Ah well, dont mind me, each to their own. If you like this then more power to ya! Have fun with it!

nice of you
a few questions:
1. where do you grab the kickoff source files from ? (it`s about 20MB compressed tar from the kde svn)
2. is there any special way of compiling it? or just: make, make install and install?
and a rpm would be verry nice but please.. only if you have time don`t let it get a higher priority than your exams.
Thanx

I also would like to see a RPM of kickoff for fedora.
kickoff looks really cool.
It has been released for kubuntu : link. I am longing to see the same for fedora.
I know there is KBFX, but I would prefer test kickoff.

If anyone's prepared to make a 64-bit rpm, that would be brilliant... I'd have no idea where to start making an rpm...

I have built kickoff for FC6 i386. You can download it using next link: http://webfile.ru/1325448
To install it use next command:
rpm -Uvh --force kicker-20070223-1.i386.rpm
BTW, I'm using KDE 3.5.6 (you can update to it using packages from http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/).

I would advice no one to use the --force option!! It might be not very good for you system.

Without --force option you will not be able to install this package. Kickoff overwrites bunch of files from kdebase.
I had two ways to build this package:
1. create tar.bz2 and then you should manually overwrite files using stuff from this archive
2. create rpm package which requires to use --force option
Anyway it works (at least for me ).

You should write this as a warning, when providing this instruction...

Ok, it was a warning You can use --force option. Else you will wait until official packagers will create official kdebase package including kickoff feature
