FC6 Installation Error [Disk Error 80, AX = 42AB, drive 9F] Help!!!
Hi everyone
I downloaded the FC6 dvd iso and the normal (5) iso files (successfully) and tried to install it on my computer (outline of specs: Athlon XP 2000+, 512MB SDRAM, ASUS A7V333 M/B, nVida GeForce 3 Ti200) and I get the following error right at the start of the bootup from the CD/DVD:
Loading vmlinuz........
Loading initrd.img......isolinux: Disk error 80, AX = 42AB, drive 9F
Boot failed: press a key to retry.
Needless to say, rebooting doesn't help. I get (almost) the same error with the DVD and the CD versions.
Please help.
Thanks in advance and cheers.

Help!
I have tried two different sources of Fedora 6 and both do not work on my computer. I wiped the drive (zero filled it, formatted it) and put just the drive that I want to install Fedora on (removed all other hard disks). Yet I get the same error.
But the CDs are fine because the installation starts normally on any other machine I take them to.
PLEASE HELP!

search for "isolinux: Disk error 80" on Google, seems to be a common problem, related to bios or cd/dvd drive...

What is a "broken bios"?
Also, the CDs are fine...I have tested them on another machine.

I have an Acer TravelMate 2350. I installed a new BIOS upgrade supplied by the manufacturer. (It flashed the BIOS first and installed the new one)
The error was gone after that.

It was a drive related (hardware support) issue. I switched drives and it installed just fine. I'm using Fedora 8 now :-d
