Crashes Half the Time Before the Log In Screen...

Whenever my Fedora starts up, it goes through it's normal startup procedures until it's time for the log in screen to come up. Half the time, it crashes right before the log in screen. I've tried both the i386 and x86_64 versions, and the same thing happens. I'm on a HP Pavilion, would it be caused by a hardware problem?

Would you be able to describe in more detail, exactly what happens?
Any error messages etc ?
Also, what type of video card etc. you have.
