Finally got a new box after many years.
Dell E520
2GB 533 Memory
E6400 Core 2 Duo
NVida 7300 LE Viddy(yeah yeah... it was the better of two cards i could get from dell)
Core 6 loads great with all hardware recognized and configured
While Vista is some serious eye candy I still am a diehard linux fan and Red Hat/Fedora user since the Red Hat 7.2 days.
I have a question about the rendering of fonts in FC6. Do they look distorted to anyone compared to the fonts in older Core versions?
I connect both boxes(one with FC2 and one with FC6) to my lcd and with the same font, font hinting, resolution, etc under FC6, they just don't look as good.
Did the rendering engine for the fonts change or something? Just curious before I go digging.
Once again, a flawless FC install. For the record I tried Ubuntu and it didn't recognize my video properly, fonts were REALLY bad looking especially in Firefox, and sound was quirky. That was enough for me to come right back to Fedora.
