username & password

hi there, i just arrive to linux, and well, i somebody said to me that this is going to be the first post that i was going to write, well, probably i would not belive it
The thing is, i just install fedora, and is asking me for a username and a password, well, for sure i did not type any password or username at all in all the installation, the thing is i can not log in, "fedora" says that the password or the username are incorrect, as i told you i did not type any password/username during the install.
Any idea how can i log in?

Did you install with the graphic anaconda method? Or perhaps text? I know for a fact that the graphical install asks you for a root password during the install (right next to the timezone selection). Perhaps you left it blank (I don't know if this is possible) so try logging in as root and then not typing anything for a password.

If that doesn't work then you might try the Howto (in the howto section of the forum) that was written by Ug (I think) about how to reset your password using Grub.

Good luck!

For starters, both name and password are case sensitive.

You did set up a root password, right? Enter root for the username and you root password. As the root password is all powerful, you really should make a user account for everyday use. Main Menu > System Settings > Users and Groups has a graphical tool you can add a user with.

If you're really stuck without any password at all, boot from CD1 and enter
Code:
linux rescue
to start the Fedora rescue. You will get a text prompt. The useradd tool will come in handy now. Try
Code:
useradd <name>
