Add/remove programs from CD

I am a newbie when it comes to linux and im almost certain this will be something very easy.

I have a limit on what i can download from the internet so while im trying out FC6 i would like to install the packages that are on the CD instead of downloading them all the time.

For example: i wish to try out the 3 different GUI and dont want to have to download all three when they are on the CD. Can someone please point me in the right position.

At the bottom it looks like there is a posible fix.
could someone translate that for me. How do i check yum version and what file do i edit with Medisid= and after the = will i put cd name?

I ask on there if no-one knows.
