Pirut slow because of slow mirror?

The Fedora package manager is very slow on my system. When I start it, it takes at least two minutes for the "Downloaden software information" process to finish. My guess is that Pirut is using a slow mirror. Can I change the repository mirror that Pirut uses?

Install the package 'yum-fastestmirror' along with the newer rewritten version of yumex which is available trough the the fedora development repo.
