Fedora 7 and Centrino 1.73Ghz CPU detected at 799Mhz

Hello All,
i've got the Problem after I did a fresh install of Fedora7 on my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M3638G. It owns a 1.73GHz CPU but looking at dmesg, it gets being detected at 799Mhz. This is also stated at /proc/cpuinfo, But with the correct CPU-name string, but also at 799Mhz. When trying to use cpuspeed to change the frequency, it tells me that i'am running at MAX allready :-(
I had a look at /etc/sysconfig/cpuspeed and found out that the setting DRIVER is empty ( "DRIVER=" ) which means more or less that it should autodetect. I didn't found on the internet what setting for the driver would meet my centrino. But anyway i think since it gets not detected well during startup of the kernel , the driver setting for cpuspeed would be helpless.

EDIT: Maybe it's worth to mention, that under FC6 with kernel 2.6.19 and former versions it was working correct.

Does anyone have the same problems, or maybe a solution for this ?
A push in the right direction, to solve this problem would be very nice.

Greets,
Marco

Thank you leigh123,
but this didn't solve my problem. It still gets detected at 799Mhz with 1.600 bogomips :-(

Is there maybe a kernel parameter to disable the detection and set the cpu explicitly ?

THX,
Marco
