Installing Fedora 7 from a USB stick

Hello all

I have an HP micro tower PC with dual core AMD 64. This pc has a problem in recognising it's cdrom drive. As a result I need to choose another medium to install the OS from. I have gone to the Fedora 7 mirror sites and copied the /os directory contents want to boot and install from that usb stick which has been formatted to ext3. It's failing to detect os. How do I structure the files and directories in that USB stick !

Thank you for the reply, I was just wondering if I can do a full install from USB ! The current version is only the boot up then you can default to a location ..ftp , http or disk though it didn't recognize my HD which makes the issue more interesting ! So can I do a full install from USB can i modify scripts ! and how

Easy try:
Burn Fedora LiveCD to USB, boot from it and run liveinst (an icon should be on the desktop). At least you have fedora, then you can just yum for the other apps you need.

I dont know how the whole fedora dvd can fit on a usb pen drive. Unless you have a 4gig pen drive? whoa!
