what, for streaming video ?

Hello all.
On my xp machine I have a couple of city video cams. One in NewYork and In the Florida keys. Now the xp machine has ofcourse windows media player to play the streaming vids on those cams. As you know the word is streaming video. I url'ed to those sites on my new fedora 7 box and of course I can't view the couple of streaming vids those sites have. I have java installed but they call for windows media player and I have not seen a linux version of it. What do you all use for streaming video on the net? Helix player or movie player dose not work, unless I'm missing something here. Allso I think I did the right thing by putting the one java file in the firefox pluggin folder. Your dealing with a big newbe here. Thanks for any help, Jim
