Interfacing Printer Parallel Port

Hey guys.

I was wondering if any one knows any C/C++ libraries for interfacing with parallel port in Linux.

I would also appreciate any web sites that deal with port interfacing if you know any.

Thanks you in advance,

Vlad

I thought the devices were like /dev/parport0 which being character devices, you can open, read, and write.
