panel applications, accidentally removed the 'special' one

i accidentally removed the panel application that holds things like pidgin when its open, and any other application that you have currently open. any idea on how to get that back? i couldnt find it in the 'add to panel' section either.

That's the 'Notification Area' (In Gnome, dunno about KDE) Right-click on the Panel and add it back. Other running apps show up in either 'Window List' or 'Window Selector'

If you are using kde, drag the icon in the menu to the panel and that's all

Just right click on blank space in panel there are lot of option Add panel ,Add remove applications,applets from panel
