open office install

I just downloaded the open office from there site and it looks like they want me to install a bunch of .rpm's. Am I missing something is there an easier way. Can I add a repository and yum install instead?

Use Add/Remove Software to install it. It's much easier that way. If I'm not mistaken, install openoffice.org-core and whatever else is needed will follow automatically, as in dependencies. See attached screen shot.

As glennzo said, there's a Fedora build of OpenOffice in the repos but if you want the official latest and greatest you can install that (I have done) To install it you will need to issue this command, as root in the RPMs directory:

rpm -ivh *.rpm
